Again, sore most of the day, but feel the need to get out and move, fortunately; I'm ignoring the specifics of the schedule this week, but keeping the total mileage planned (50) and aiming to include a couple of Q runs. Decide to make this one of them, short but tempo (assuming I can loosen up). Head out down GeoHannum, and aim for a Rural loop, with an extension to Stebbins, and then back. Muggy, not too hot: after the painful down hill start, feel okay and mile two (without effort) is a 6:42; slow down a bit until 4 miles done, then actually push a bit on mile 5, though there's a fair bit of uphill in it; get a 6:52, then slow down again and finish (after adding a loop round the drainage lagoons) just before the railway after 6 miles done, thus:
Time: 43:39
Distance: 6.08 miles
Pace/Speed: 7:11s/8.36 mph
Comment: recovery run that doubled as a tempo run, given the shorter distance. Still painful but quite satisfying.
