Boston -52 -- Sat. Feb. 27

Heavy spring snow all night after rain and snow on Friday: fortunately, a mild and sunny day, so when I got out after 11 a.m. it was all clear on the roads. I didn't want more than enough to get my week to 50 miles, and an easy pace. Decided to do a Bagg Hill run, so out at a 7:45 pace, stopping after a mile to stretch achilles. Then on to Boardman, across 202 and Chicopee to the turnaround; pass 4 miles at a pace just slower than 7:30, so decided to slow down a bit. At one hour point 7.85 miles, so on target for 7:40s, which felt right. Kept it steady, and finished the 9.5 miles a bit short of home, so continued a bit more across the viaduct, thus:

Time: 1:14:47
Distance: 9.78 miles
Pace: 7:40s

Comment: had to run in back-up old shoes, as I need the reds dry for tomorrow's race, and my better old shoes were still soggy from Thu. So, slightly rubbed toe on right foot. Hopefully will be okay tomorrow. All I want is to match last year's time. Running as a Harrier this year, which will be a first...
