Another early meeting, but too tired from Wed., and a minor cold, to make the 7 am bus; opt for a shorter run after driving home from meeting (shorter also as there's a*nother* meeting at 1!). Aiming for a mild tempo run, after a couple of miles to warm up --wind v. cold, though sun is nice and warming at times. To Hamilton (stretches at 2 mile point), Allen to 9 and down to Federal, then Metacomet, right on Bay to Stebbins, then GeoHannum, Rural, Boardman and GeoHannum. Meet Bill coming the other way on a 6:30s kick, but I'm happy with my milder quickstep; keep on pace up GeoHannum to Jackson, then along there to Howard, before turning round and heading back (to make sure I got the 10 mile total). Stop clock just before rail underpass:
Time: 1:11:33
Distance: 10.23 miles
Pace: 6:59s
Comment: I was aiming for a 7:00~7:15 pace on the eight post-warm up miles, and focussed not on speed/push, but on maintaining high timbre. Fastest mile was 9, where I *did* push a little as I thought pace was slowing = 6:36. The result was more of an aerobic workout than a normal run, but relatively low impact. Still want to do a longer tempo run on Saturday.
