MHM -53/track work -- Wed. Aug. 18

Answering a tweet from Edo, invited him to BHS track at 7 pm. Got home myself in time to run over there, for nearly three miles of warm up, then we did four laps easy pace to loosen up (Ed not too familiar w/ easy pace), then launched into an 800 at a pretty good clip. Planned to do one lap chill after that, but Ed hadn't run since April, so he did various after this. I did two laps easy, then another 800, then more laps easy. Finally we did 3-4 100 meters, walking back in between -- I went barefoot for those, as Ed was in his Vibrams. Unfortunately my right sole bruise didn't enjoy that too much. Saw highschooler John S with his foot in a plastic boot and heard his side of the injury story; he's bulked up and his keen to get back to running. Walked Ed to his car, then jogged back home to round out miles, thus:

Comment: pace on the 800s was 2:55, I think - timed w/ my cell phone. It felt comfortable, so I should probably try both faster and more repeats next time. Still, this was a good workout, and Ed is interested in doing SRRC on Sunday. ..
