Rest day on Monday, then today a sort of mixed mpace/tempo run. Wanting to get the 7:15~7:20 pace fixed I headed out aiming for six miles at that pace, starting with two miles accompanying F (v. easy pace, 11:30s) then off down towards Rural at 7:30 pace, plenty warmed up. Do Geohannum, Rural, Boardman to 202 and across, along Chicopee to School, then back to 202 again, across, and along to Geohannum, then Rural round to Boardman and home --> effectively a variation on the figure of 8, ten miles and a bit in all (plus the two I did with F). After 2 x 7:30 pace, picked up and did 6 averaging about 7:15, then pushed to close, clocking a 7:06 and a 6:47 (with uphills, so happy enough), then keep going to get the extra 3/4 mile to balance Sunday's shorter run. Overall:
Time: 1:42:19
Distance: 12.79 miles
Pace: 8:00s
Comment: this was a good run for MPace, though I'll need a lot more mileage consistently at this to really get 7:15 fixed. Step by step. Man, it was muggy today, too!
