Took a rest day on Friday, spending 16 hours at work instead. So this morning ready to enjoy the now dehumidified air (still sunny and almost 80 deg.) and gusty breeze--though a disturbed night (trying to connect with 小春ちゃん) and an early start didn't help. Felt pretty sore as I started, but to water plant to stretch (passing Bill coming the other way, finishing a 22 miler), then up into trails to Underwood, out on to 202 and go right, down as far as Eskett, then in and right at Boardman, up to geoHannum, left to do a Rural loop and then up home from there, keeping the pace slow:
Time: 1:05:37
Distance: 8.11 miles
Pace: 8:05s
Comment: after a few miles the slower pace seemed very natural, which was a bit alarming as I hope I'm not that tired. But it should give me some legs for tomorrow, which promises to be a rolling course, possibly a different challenge than I'd expected. I won't be looking for a PB, though: sub-7:00s will be fine.
After stopping the clock I did 3 x strides, each two telegraph poles long on GeoHannum by the supermarket; just wanted to open up a bit before resting.
